tockey, I'm going to try and find this article I read last year. It essentially makes the point that catalyst of the wealth and prosperity that conservatives enjoy and religously protect comes from lefties in places like San Fransisco, Boston, New York, etc.
I'm paraphrasing, but one of the quotes was: "I'm pretty sure the ipod wasn't invented in Lubbock by Soutern Baptists.'
nice. i like it. it turns out that the engines of our society tend to be those "dens if iniquity", the major metropolitan areas, with their homosexuals, tolerance for people of different religions and races, and socialist universities.
i remember seeing a graph that showed areas of the country and shaded them red or blue based on whether they were net tax importers or net tax exporters -- in other words, which areas generated tax that went to pay for projects outside of their districts.
guess where those "exporters" all were? east and west coast and the major cities. the biggest beneficiaries were all places that support limited government and bemoan the "welfare state".
